Just Kill Me!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

It 30th March here and today was my orientation day. Most orientations…that I know of starts later in the afternoon…mine is freaking 8 o’ clock in the morning! Not like I’m complaining, and I do like the fact of walking to school in the morning…get to see a lot of cute doggies! But…I lacked sleep and I don’t like waking up early if I lack sleep even if it’s 5 minutes! I HATE it!

Orientation day was..I guess…fun! If I say that…that would be a lie! It’s the first day where  you get to see other students…freshman like you and I probably think you’d be praying to God telling Him to just kill you! I arrived around 7:50 am at the institute and everybody…well, a lot of people was there and all eyes were almost on me when I got there. So, my first thought…KILL ME! I manage to get a seat FAR away from human beings! That’s the irony of it. I’m suppose to make friends there but…I don’t wanna! So, I got a seat on this front table on the other side of the room. A girl was sitting on the same table as I am and I was sitting like a chair away from her. Keeping my distance here! I think I was being pretty cold there. I didn’t talk to anyone cause…I was shy! Go figure! And scared! Can’t blame me, I am like…small…in size there! And everyone who sees me here thinks I’m under 18! That’s the sad thing about it! PEOPLE!! I AM 18!! I EVEN GOT A FRICKIN’ DRIVER’S LICENSE!!

They start of with some basic stuff…what each departments does…finance…techincal stuff…taking photos for student ID…giving out passes for students who want to work late in the building. Honestly, it was a bit boring…I yawned a couple of times. Thankfully, I didn’t fall asleep! Then there was a break, and a team building thingy. We team up and did a few stuff to get to know each other better. Not making much difference though, I didn’t make any friends! I did but more like…just-met-you friends. So I guess that counts! LOL!

There was lunch and then I attend this workshop. I get to learn some stuff and it was fun. I met this guy who is like…my sister. Not exactly like her. He talks a lot and he is really outgoing…talks to almost everyone, doesn’t matter he knows them or not. A bit to the metro sexual type but I guess guys in fashion are like that. Maybe its a good thing cause he’s in marketin’ and you kinda need to mingle a lot in that particular industry. He’s a nice guy I guess…that’s cause he compliments me on my job in the workshop also a very driven guy! Hahaha! Another was a girl. Very sarcastic! Didn’t talk to her much but she messes a lot with the guy that I state earlier. Haha! It was funny while it lasted. Orientation was this much. I was a bit awkward to speak to anyone but I guess after classes start, I will manage to break through!!

To my friends back home, I miss you guys! Also my family, and don’t worry guys! I’ll be coming back on December! Only three weeks though then I have to come back here again! So, see you at the end of the year! Muax!

PS: Ju Ween…you ask me if I see a cute guy I tell you right, well, there’s tons here. Just walking down the street here you can see like a bunch already. Everybody here is like perfect not to mention you kinda have a variety here! LOLX!

The Falls

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Okay, this all happened yesterday and I only have today free cause yesterday when I got back, I was like, soooo tired! Anyways, here is what happened yesterday. By the way, for those of you who don’t know, I’m right here in Canada and not in Malaysia! LOL!

My parents (yes, they are with me here!) and I followed this tour to the Niagara Falls. And it was awesome. The whole journey was fun. Still, I did took a nap or two during the journey there. It was like an hour and a half or two hours journey from downtown Toronto to there. So people, Niagara Falls is REALLY far! First up, the driver drove around town to pick up some other guests in other hotels before going off to Niagara Falls. The countryside (we have to pass it, and downtown Toronto is somewhat like a city) is beautiful. Mainly, they are placed there for planting stuff. Whether its a vineyard or corps, I don’t know cause it’s the beginning of spring still and nothing really bloom much yet. Even the trees are like sticks still!

We stopped by this airport after an hour ride or so. And I personally get to ride a helicopter. I know it’s nothing fancy or whatever but still, yeah…it’s cool to get to ride a helicopter even if it is for just ONE time! We flew above Niagara Falls, and I took a few pic. I might post them here, if I’m not being lazy. It was beautiful, seriously the view from the top. But it was even better when we reach the falls and get to see it close up. Too bad the helicopter ride was like above and not close up. So sad…:’(

Anyhows, before reaching the falls itself. Just now was the airport, and we still heading towards the falls cause not all the tourists hitch a ride on the helicopter. I guess they are afraid of heights or something! Haha! We stopped at this winery. And the wine taste great. We get to taste like three types of wine. But all of them are made out of grapes. There’s white wine first. Then, red wine and lastly icewine (not really sure how to spell it). Icewine is made out of grapes that are frozen at the temperature of -8 degrees Celsius. Most grapes are harvest before winter but these grapes are like harvest after winter, before spring. And this wine is, truly, the wine for the Gods! Even the Gods themselves would be tempted by the very essence of its taste. It’s sweet and different for most wine that I have ever tried. I will admit, after drinking three glasses (only like a quarter of the glass, each) I got a bit drunk. LOL! Then, we head towards this place that uses an old, dying method to create chocolate. I forgot what method it was called but the chocolates weren’t bad, I’m not a chocolate person so…I guess it’s okay.

Finally, we reach the falls! It’s beautiful! Magnificent! Heavenly…I am running out of words to describe it. But it was great! We get this chance to go to this underground tunnel that was built during the 1930’s I think. It was under the falls and it leads you to deep within the falls. We get to see water fall…nothing much but since it was like gallons and gallons of water pouring down, it must be something…at least! Then, we get to hear the roaring thunder of the waterfall…which is something! But the whole experience was fun. And damn COLD! I was practically freezing. I think I could get frostbites if it weren’t for my trusty jacket! After going through the journey, we have some free time to explore the falls ourselves at the top. We first had lunch at this restaurant which overlook the falls. It would be romantic for my parents but I was there so I guess I ruined everything…hahaha! Plus it was daylight…so it won’t be that romantic even if I was not there! LOL! Lastly, after lunch we took a walk at this pathway thingy that was built opposite the falls. The best view of the falls is indeed from the Canada side and not the US side! And there’s this bridge connecting Canada and US. So, throughout my journey to the falls, I was looking at US all along. I guess that must be what they meant by being far-sighted…LOL!

After all that, we got back to town. And at the winery, my parents bought like a dozen bottles of icewine…a dozen is 6 right? I plead them to give me one but…they say, HECK NO! You’re studyin’! Eh…at least I tried! LOLX! I was so damn tired from my journey and I still need to do my laundry yesterday…imagine that…a girl who lived all her life being a princess finally became a pauper…sad! But, weird thing is…it was fun doing laundry if I wasn’t that tired!
